The terrace heading the typical Eixample discrtict was a great place to relax in silence with full sunshine. Free wi-fi!

In catalan, to pick mushrooms is "caçar bolets", which can be directly translated into "mushroom hunting". - Every time I hear my catalan friends saying "mushroom hunting", I can´t stop laughing! jeje
There is a great variety of mushrooms in all different colors in the shadow under the trees and in autumn and you will find mushroom hunters wandering around with wooden baskets.
Before you pick the mushrooms, ask the local people which are the good ones, to avoid picking the poisoned mushrooms.
Queralbs is a small municipality in the catalonian pyrenees. There are less than 200 habitants, not more than 3 bars. Even it is a small town, it is relatively well-known for winter sports, trekking, mountain bike activity in the surrounding towns.
There is a church that has history dating back to the 10th century, and the old houses are built in dark stones. The tram which stops by this town brings you up to "Vall de Nuria", a valley on 2000m above sea level.
posted by dyiiCosta Brava, the coast of north eastern part of Catalunya, is one of the most popular @Sun and Beach@ destination for europeans. From Blanes until the French boarder, there are many small beach towns, with their own stories. Some are noisy and cheap, some are very posh and quiet.
Tossa is a perfect place if you expect something like Sun+Beach+somethig more. Up on the hill, there are small paths nice to walk, between old houses. The cafe at the light house has a great view with very nice coffee.
Gilsangsa, literally meaning "benign buddist temple", used to be a high society saloon for many hundred years until the owner decided to dedicate the place to the buddhist community.
On every important Buddhist holidays and day of remembrance in the ancestors, the temple is decorated with colorful lamps, and people come to pray.
If you expect something more than just visiting, participate in their temple stay program, which is open for the foreigners as well.
posted by dyiiIt seems like time stopped in Besalú. It is a small town in the northern Catalonian region that was designated as a historical national property ("conjunt històric-artístic") in 1966. Many of the remaining is from the 11-12C: everything built with thick stones - houses, church, well, tiles. very simple and authentic.
It would be great to stop by, if you're making a small trip with a car by visiting the small towns in the area.
posted by dyiiAltea is a small Mediterranean town in Costa Blanca in the province of Alicante. Even being right in front of the coast, the beauty of Altea is not the beach - it's the town itself. White Mediterranean houses with blue doors are not higher than 3 floors, and the church in the old city center has a beautiful blue dome.
Take a coffee in the terrace. Wander around the small streets. The walk to the port will not take more than 15 minutes from any direction. That's the way you enjoy Altea.

in Barcelona » Eating & Drinking
Tèxtil Cafè is in the El Bourne area, located in front of the Picasso museum. There used to be Textile museum, which moved out. It explains the name of the cafe.
You can count the history of the building back to the 13C, as many of others in that area, built with thick stones.
The sunny terrace, which is in the small patio of the building, is one of my favorite coffee spots in Barcelona.
