Ventrella’s

Ventrella's is a really great internet cafe in Chicago's Ravenswood neighborhood. It has a 1930-40's feel. The owner James is probably the nicest guy you'll meet in the whole neighborhood. The sandwiches are great and the gelato even better. I have become a regular in this place and definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago. Images coming soon!

In the Summer on Sundays after a Saturday of partying, people like to lounge on Chicago's most popular beach, North Avenue Beach. There you'll find all the hotties and hard bodies Chicago has to offer. 10am is prime time to arrive. You also have access to beach volleyball courts. Those you have to reserve but if you're lucky you can find an open one. Afterwards you can go grab a burger and drinks at Castaways which is the the boat looking restaurant that sits on the beach bike path.

posted by alexGo see Lincoln Park Zoo, it's a great place to visit and spend the day. The Zoo is free but parking is a little pricy and street parking is impossible. General hours are from 9am-6pm. Lincoln Park Zoo is pretty large and extremely educational. I think it's one of Chicago's greatest places to spend a Sunday afternoon . They also have paddle boats which is always fun. The neighborhood is like one big park full of families, joggers, and Sunday bike riders. It's minutes from the Lake Michigan.

posted by alexIf you're in downtown Chicago it will be hard to miss Navy Pier. Just look for the giant ferris wheel. Navy Pier is one Chicago's more popular tourist attractions. The pier is has shops, restaurants, live music, Lake Michigan boat rides, fireworks and Chicago's Great Ferris Wheel. Check it out! It takes about half an hour to go all the way around. If you're afraid of heights I don't suggest getting on, it's pretty big. Try to catch a firework show while on Chicago's Great Ferris Wheel.

When it comes to Cuban restaurants for me it's hit or miss. Being raised on Cuban food I'm very critical when something just doesn't taste like home. With that said, Cafe Laguardia in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, in my opinion is one of the BEST Cuban Restaurants in Chicago. The food is excellent and the drinks are great. It has a nice friendly atmosphere and on certain nights they have live salsa music. If you're a fan of Cuban cuisine I highly recommend eating here.

Awesome sushi restaurant! I first discovered Blue Coral because my friend celebrated his birthday there. Ever since that day I've been coming back. It's a spacious restaurant and nicely decorated. If you're like me and get overwhelmed with so many options, check out the Blue Coral Signature Maki menu section, The restaurant also has a bar, but if you're going for dinner I would recommend making reservations.
posted by alexChicago is home of the Blues, and if you want a feel for something "very Chicago" then check out Kingston Mines and enjoy the live music. It's about $12 for admission and they have 2 stages with performances. The stages are also up close, so the musicians are at crowd level. Really great music and a fun place to go with friends!
