Southeastern Center For Contemporary Art

ADD TO MY TRIP

This is one of those places that Winston-Salem residents get to brag about. For a semi-small city, this arts center really has the momentum of a major art facility in a metropolitan city. If you’re an art-history connoisseur than you might recall it as the setting for Cerrano’s revealing of his photograph “Piss-Christ” in the ‘80s. Last time I went here I really enjoyed the “Roadsworth” collection. Photographer Peter Gibson manipulated signs and roads with stencils and other whimsical devices.
