Travel tips
Petra hotels offer currency exchange rate well below the bank. It is better to move the euro or U.S. dollars on the banks of the Wadi Musa or in the exchange office of the hotel zone, close to the visitor center.
Petra is a well-traveled walk ten hours a day. Forces to recover and relax, nothing better than sitting in a Turkish bath in some of the premises put up for it, like Petra Turkish Bath of the hotel zone. Also goes by the locals and 22 euros (20 dinars) are entitled to a sauna, skin cleaning (not flushing with the amount of crap that you remove it), massage and tea.
For the second day, add to climb the Altar of Sacrifice Al Madha (up from the stairs near the theater) and descend the other side watching the fascinating colors of the rock, the source of the lion, the palace and the tombs of the Roman soldier and the colored triclinium. From here, following the same wadi Farasa, you reach the column of the pharaoh and the base of the castle of Al Habis Crusader, with splendid views of the acropolis of Petra.
For six euros you can purchase a bag lunch in the tea of Petra close to the theater. A less expensive way of feeding on the long tour of the Nabataeans, as the only two restaurants charge between 10 and 17 euros the buffet.
