Soho is soooo 90´s and the Lower East Side sooo turn of the century. Today, the place to see and be seen is DUMBO ( Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), the most hip area in Brooklyn. As a classic case of gentrification, DUMBO started being a cheap, industrial place and today is one of the most expensive areas of New York. Thursdays are opening days at art galleries, so go to DUMBO for free art, free wine and free food. A classic pastime.
