The container store
The peak of consumer sophistication. This is a chain that sells containers and stuff for storaging and organising. That means: mostly boxes. It is very interesting to observe how they have developed that simple concept in order to turn it into something appealing. You dont feel you are buying a 2 dollars transparent make-up plastic box ( empty, of course), but a gift for yourself. This is the sort of stores that only exist in the US.
This place belongs to the following guides: summer revenge 09 (fall edition), NYC and New York

Yes! There is nothing else quite like the container store! I'm an organization junkie and this is where I get my fix!! Please note however, that they are much much more than "mostly boxes". They sell a fantastic closet organization system called Elfa, and the reps in the store will help you plan all your closets for free!! Think of this place as being Muji on steriods!!
The store is divided into sections according to room (i.e. kitchen, bathroom, office, garage, etc.) and has items to organize everything from CD's, to cookies, to documents, to laundry, to you name it.
There are 2 locations in NYC. The above address is incorrect.
1- 58th and Lexington Ave.
2- Sixth Avenue between 18th and 19th Street2010-02-17 13:05
