Hollywood bowl
Everybody has heard of the Hollywood Bowl; maybe even gone there. What is new is that about 5 years ago, they put in a new sound system, and it is terriffic. If you like classical music like I do, but have avoided the Bowl because of its lousy acoustics like I used to, GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY. The acoustics are now like a concert hall.
You will not be disappointed.
Bradbury building
Built in 1893, inspired in "Looking Backward" a 1887 science fiction story and with the help of a ouija, this building is one of the most remarkable buildings in Los Angeles.
Lewis Bradbury, a mining millionaire, wanted a building to perpetuate his name. A "vast hall full of light, received not alone from the windows on all sides, but from the dome, the point of which was a hundred feet above" as the sci-fi book described commercial buildings.
You can see this building in Blade Runner.
