Things to do in Indianapolis

OK, so I'm not the least bit into auto racing, be it Indy car or NASCAR. But a friend of mine dragged me to this museum a couple months ago, and I have to say I did find most of it interesting. The museums has over 75 cars on display at any given time and has over 30 cars that have won the Indy 500, which has its track nearby. It's got numerous other memorabilia such as helmets, gloves, and driver's suits. Pretty cool stuff, actually.

This free museum actually allows photography on some floors, which was a bit of a surprise. I really enjoyed one of the exhibits about Spain, and their collection of American art and contemporary art were my favorites. I also really enjoyed the African art collection. Overall, I was surprised by how good a job this place did. It really stands up with the art museums in many bigger American cities. It's a pretty sweet structure, too.
