Funky buddha lounge
If you like Hip-Hop and House music, Funky Buddha Lounge is a great place to go. Thursdays is the best night in my opinion. It's a diverse crowd and the music is always good. I've done some of my best partying at this place. You might also catch a live performance depending on how early you go. Sometimes it might take a while to pick up, but by the end of the night it gets pretty packed. A must see!

Awesome sushi restaurant! I first discovered Blue Coral because my friend celebrated his birthday there. Ever since that day I've been coming back. It's a spacious restaurant and nicely decorated. If you're like me and get overwhelmed with so many options, check out the Blue Coral Signature Maki menu section, The restaurant also has a bar, but if you're going for dinner I would recommend making reservations.

When it comes to Cuban restaurants for me it's hit or miss. Being raised on Cuban food I'm very critical when something just doesn't taste like home. With that said, Cafe Laguardia in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, in my opinion is one of the BEST Cuban Restaurants in Chicago. The food is excellent and the drinks are great. It has a nice friendly atmosphere and on certain nights they have live salsa music. If you're a fan of Cuban cuisine I highly recommend eating here.

In the mood for a burger and a beer, or perhaps a tasty salad and a glass of wine? Either way, Grace O'Malley's has you covered. Located in the heart of the South Loop and close to Soldier Field, this is a great place to grab a bite and chill out. Attentive service and nice-sized portions for the money round out a great experience.
If you're there on a Sunday, check out the brunch - great bloody mary's and mimosas!

Ann sather's
This delicious Swedish restaurant has several locations around the city. The breakfast foods are superb, especially the Swedish waffles and pancakes with homemade lingonberry sauce, but they also make decent omelets, sandwiches, and salads. They're especially famous for their cinnamon rolls, which are huge and to die for!
Map room
Map Room is the place to go if you are a fan of beer - good beer - beers from all over the world. There is always a new beer on special and always a beer or 6 that you have never had before.
A nice cozy atmosphere and reasonably priced for the level and types of beers on hand.
Be sure to check out the wall o beer. Impressive.
The magnolia cafe
A tiny, tiny place, but it was some of the best service I've ever had. As was the grilled beef tenderloin I ordered. The place is a little pricey considering it's nowhere near downtown, or any other high-end drinking establishments, but it's off-the-beaten path location is what makes it kinda nice. All told, it was very unpretentious.
West town tavern
West Town Tavern serves contemporary comfort food Monday through Saturday beginning at 5:00PM. Housed in an 1880s building that retains the original tin ceiling, exposed brick walls and hardwood floors, the Tavern’s atmosphere is friendly, warm and intimate. The restaurant seats seventy guests along with fifteen seats at the lustrous oak bar.
