Shango bistro and wine bar

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Buffalo. A friend of mine brought me here and I couldn’t stop talking about it to co-workers for a week. They serve the kind of food you’d find in New Orleans. They also boast a wine catalogue that’s 170 bottles deep. You must order a cup of their chicken and sausage gumbo for an appetizer! It’s award winning. I really like their take on “mac and cheese,” too. It’s served with smoked gouda, goat cheese, cheddar and you can add chicken to it.

Left bank

When we have visitors from out of town we like to show off the best of Buffalo with Left Bank. It’s the perfect combination of fine food, extensive drink selections, and top-notch staff. Last time we went it was quite full so we had to sit at the bar at first. Which reminds me, you must make reservation if you want to eat in a timely matter during dinnertime. The menu’s extensive but I liked their “Fondue for Two” options. Loved the grilled tiger shrimp on artichoke bottoms with goat cheese.
