Soul food! Make that soul food with a southwest twist. Great place, great food. You'll get full just looking at the menu. Sandwiches, jerk chicken, pork chops, fried okra, fried chicken, catfish, black eyed peas. Real deal. Super tasty.

Downtown soul food served up nice and classy. Corn dog shrimp, BBQ, Catfish, all the classics...within walking distance from most places downtown.
They've got weekend brunches too and killer apple pie.

If you like burgers and fries, this place is your wet dream. I wish I could have ordered everything on this menu. Seriously. It all looked that good. The burger I had - the Pitts Burger - was amazing. And the verde chili fries? They're making my mouth water as I write this sentence. The atmosphere is dark and a bit gothic, which I think was a perfect motif for the joint.

Cheap texmex! Chile rellenos, enchiladas, chili, and just about anything else you can think of. The place is popular and always packed. They have a salsa bar too...with all the refills you want.

This place seriously rules. Healthy vegetarian menu as well as a full service coffee and tea bar. But the best thing is that they've got this huge garden with benches and chairs where you can just hang out outside and drink. The folks who work there as well as the general feeling of the place is super relaxed and friendly.

Open 7am - midnight Monday-Friday and 9 - midnight on the weekends.

Delicious and carefully prepared and presented Ethiopian food in Austin. They offer lots of combo dishes - either vegetarian or meat or you can mix and match.
The spiced coffee is also highly recommended.
If you go for lunch they've got an $8 lunch buffet special - all vegetarian and all really good.

Sandwich truck with smooties and vietnamese sandwiches in South Austin. The sandwiches are about $4.50 and gigantic with options from lemongrass chicken, to BBQ pork, to avocado or lemongrass tofu for vegetarians. They also have noodle bowls and summer rolls. There's picnic tables out front!
