Frontline restaurant
Great restaurant! which I loved the most is that they bring the ingredients from independent farmers and fisher and the menu is quite different from what we ate in London. I also loved the beautiful photographs, taken all over the world by journalists, hung on the walls.

The albert pub
This pub is a survivor. Stranded between high rise buildings, in the middle of Victoria Street it hasn't lost its charm. Close to Victoria, Westminster or Scotland Yard ... it's a good place to have a rest or a pint.
Recommended is the afternoon tea: A 3 level tray of sandwiches, scones, cream and teas. (breakfast is not that impressive, though)

Very original tiny pub built in 1720. Charles Dickens describes this pub saying "In its whole constitution it had not a straight floor, and hardly a straight line". And indeed this thin building conserves those old traits.
Upstairs there's a seafood and fresh fish restaurant. Delicious! (but book in advance!) Downstairs, good beer, a couple of tables, simpler food and a tiny terrace overlooking the Thames. Trully authentic.
The easiest way to get there is Limehouse DLR or car.

Grungy, relaxing and wicked this is a great place to stop when visiting Brick Lane or Spitalfield Market.
Open from 6am - Midnight, it serves, breakfasts, burgers, kebabs and grilled veggies from the outdoor BBQ. It also has nice sofas to relax, wireless internet, DJs, live music and a great atmosphere.

One of the last traditional pubs in Primrose Hill. Good food. Get a table overlooking the park in the summer, or go for the cosy interior in the winter.

Open 7 days a week, until 5am this is a really fun and unusual place.
A small Indian restaurant by day, ... after 24h the tables are pushed aside, and the 80s - 90s music kicks in! Everybody starts dancing away (even on the tables some times) ... and the atmosphere becomes a mixture of decadence, silly fun and improvised dance floor... Champagne, beer, drinks, ... the usual.

This Pizzeria is near Totenham Court Road and Oxford Street but unknown to tourists. University College London students however are seen there ofter because of the cheap and good sized pizzas. Used to be £3 for years, but now it's around £4 per pizza. In any case, fresh ingredients, delicious pizzas and lively atmosphere.

I discovered this place only recently but wish I had found it earlier. Live Blues, Soul, Swing, Rhythm & Blues every day. And every time I've been there, musicians have been outstanding.
The atmosphere is great also, and people will start to dance near the bar or between the tables. It also has 3 floors, a pool table downstairs and serves food (recommended: platter of veggie burgers!)
