Ximending - 西門町

This is probably the area of the city where you can most clearly see the Japanese influence, not just because of the old buildings built by the Japanese during the colonization period, but also because Ximen is somehow a Taiwanese version of the famous Shibuya. It's a place full of trendy shops, restaurants, department stores, cinemas and coffee shops where many kill time on any afternoon.
Don't forget to take a look at behind the Red House Theater and its European style outdoor cafés.
