Eating & Drinking in Gijón

The name of this pub is totally correct.
In winter they decorate their tables with candles to provide a more welcoming atmosphere. In the summer you can enjoy their outdoor space on a busy little street just a few meters from the commercial hub of Gijón.
They play music with an individual touch and always serve you a basket of potatoes courtesy of the house.
In this place one day you can read a book and on another you can enjoy a beer with your group of friends.

A classic between the classics. "La Foli" is a likely second stop on a night out. Good beer, good drinks and REALLY GOOD music. Classic rock, punk and all these stuff!

Perhaps one of the most special restaurants in Gijón. It's rather difficult to find a table so, book in advance :)
You must try "ventrisca a la espalda" (just in summer) or be brave enough to taste "riñones a la plancha" or its world famous "mollejas".

Are you looking for a traditional restaurant in the old town? Zabala is, without any doubts, the best option: seafood and fishes are always fantastic.

But if you are on a low budget or can't afford the prices on the regular menu, try to find a place outside (it's always difficult specially on July and August) and enjoy the "tapas en la terraza". The tapas are so much cheaper but the quality still superb!

Jaime, the charming chef and owner, has got a heavenly gift to mix the traditional asturian cuisine with the last trends.
You'll have to wait for the food and tourist are not always welcome :)
Be patient and enjoy the wine and the music while you're waiting!

In the oldest part of the city, it has a very precious terrace to have dinner out in the back and up front you can watch the world go by while enjoying wine and tapa´s -

Famous for the fish, this is one place that will enchant you. Fish for life and all the goodness. The waiter recites the menu full of love for the products. An experience !
