The UNESCO considered it as a World Heritage Site in 1996 since "the site is of outstanding universal value as it is a wholly exceptional example of a secular building in late Gothic style, which dramatically illustrates the power and wealth of one of the great Mediterranean mercantile cities."
Things to do
Beautiful building, symbol of the 32th's Americas Cup, celebrated in Valencia in 2007.
One of the closest guarded secret of Valencia is it's countryside. If you're looking for an off the beaten path tour I suggest you go to see the hot spring in a small village 90 km inland. It is a real natural paradise and the water spout from the ground at 25ºc all year round. You can swim in warm water surrounded by an amazing gorge and explore the caves or snorkel and watch the fish.
Public transportation to go there is practically inexistant. Take a tour instead. You'll love it
The main Valencia's traditional market: the building has been restaurated, so now you can enjoy with a lot of stands which sell fish, fruits, flowers and plants.
The saturday is the day of the week with most activity
The most beautiful part of the City of A&C of Valencia. There are a lot of varieties of animals. And the dolphin exibition is so funny.
