Taipei is surrounded by mountains and crossed by 2 rivers, so although it's a big metropolis it's easy to find green places near the city. Bitan (green lake) is one of those places. Located on the Xindian river, this recreation area offers great natural views from its suspension bridge from which you can see people jumping into the river. Includes a small market, a long avenue full of good restaurants and a small tea market where it's possible to buy fresh tea from the region of Muzha.
