Okay so this zoo isn’t huge, but I grew up going here so it’s the best. It’s really well maintained and the animals seem comfortable – which is key! Their cages and habitats are big and not cramped like some small zoos. They’ve got penguins, monkeys, wolves, lions, elephants, birds – pretty much everything you’d imagine at a major metropolitan zoo. The admission is definitely reasonable too. I believe it is $4 for children and $6 for adults.
Things to do
This is a really cool, intimate theater in Syracuse. A lot of large musical acts and comedians come through it, which might be surprising to a newcomer when you see its size. I once saw Jerry Seinfeld here and I wanted to reach out and touch him. They also show a variety of movies here too, depending on the season. I’m taking my son to see the Will Ferrell movie Elf for the holidays, so that’ll be a neat alternative to chain-theater atmospheres.
