Independence Day. No one celebrates it like Seward. At the start of the day, most of the population of running age sprints up and down Mount Marathon, the nearest mountain, in shockingly quick times, scattering the scree about each other with abandon. But as the day closes, when the floats have gone, look out for activities such as the Salmon Toss,a competitive game where a good grip on the fish and an accurate throw guarantees victory. What the watching sea otters must think is anyone's guess!
