For most, the new museum is beautiful piece of architecture in a beautiful location. I highly recommend visiting the tower observation deck. On a non-foggy day, some amazing views of San Francisco can be seen from here.
The price can be expensive, but admission is good for both the De Young and the Legion of Honor if both are visited the same day. Try to go on the first Tuesday of the month when it’s free (there may be a charge for special exhibitions).
