The oldest mission and church in California, founded in 1769 by the Franciscan Junipero Serra. The church that you see now was built in 1812 and has been remodeled and fixed up since then, and some of the old style of the mission seems to have gotten lost somewhere along the way, but it's still quite interesting and a quick visit for those interested in California's Spanish history.
