This beautiful bridge dates back to the late 18th century, replacing a series of bridges dating back to the time of Al-Andalus in the 9th century. The Rio Guadalevin has cut this steep gorge that goes through what is now Ronda (there are lots of interesting tales about the history of Ronda and usually this gorge is incorporated in some way - the town people through someone over the edge, the two sides battle, etc.) This is the pefect place to start a tour of the small and gorgeous town.
Things to do
The baños arabes in Ronda date back to the 13th century. The site has various rooms and the interpretive center gives information about what it would have been like when it was in service. There are lots of graceful brick arches and the place is fairly well preserved.
