If you’ve never been to a roller derby match, you’re missing out. Richmond’s own River City Rollergirls are rough, tough, and a hell of a lot of fun to watch. They skate at the Skateland, which is Virginia’s oldest, vintage rink. Wednesdays they even have open skate, so you can actually come down and strap on a pair of skates. Don’t worry no one will jab you with an unsuspecting elbow. That sort of play is reserved for the derby skaters.
