Spouting horn: Legend of the large Mo’o

ADD TO MY TRIP

Hawaiian tales narrate that a large lizard, the Mo’o, was guardian of this coast, forbidding anybody from entering those clear waters. Until one day, a man called Liko, decided to dear the custodian but, the moment they met each other, he escaped through the lava shelf, immediately reaching the surface but the Mo’o got stuck and was never able to get out again. Today, the blowhole spurts salt water and the noise you hear, is the groaning of pain and hunger, from the lizard trapped in the rocks
