Located within the Crazy Mocha in Bloomfield, the Dreaming Ant houses a fine collection of independent films, classics, and documentaries. Film buffs might enjoy that the films are sorted by director, rather than randomly within genres. It’s sort of crazy to think that video shops such as these might eventually become non-existent in this Netflix era, but Dreaming Ant seems to be holding its own. Plus, director and Bloomfield native, George Romero has been sighted cruising the selection here.
Things to do
The complete name of this museum is “Allegheny County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall & Museum” and it’s a military museum part of the University of Pittsburg.
This was a filming location for the Oscar winning movie The Silence of the lambs. This is supposed to be Memphis town hall in the scene where Lecter escapes from the cell and borrows the face of his ward.
