Paquitequete is the traditional district of Pemba, a small fishing village with its narrow streets on the white sand. In the far west of the city and overlooking the great bay, the third largest in the world. On a visit in the early hours of the morning we discovered their mosque, school and life around the beach that serves as the port and market. A very interesting place caught in time, with a strong Muslim influence. A good place to enjoy the hospitality of the locals. Do not walk after dark
