It is a art centre near the Eiffel Tower, in summer they set a cool terrace where you could see the sunset... make sure to go early! There's always a lot of french cool people round there. All the exhibitions are fantastic, and so is the shop!
Things to do
Great Museum but also a great garden with some of the best statues by Auguste Rodin.
ça vault la peine!
Old George Whitman came to Paris from Salem, Massachusetts more than sixty years ago. George, a bibliophile, founded Shakespeare & Co a cozy bookstore which granted him the "Officier des Arts et Lettres" medal. "A wonderland of books" set in the heart of Paris on the "rive gauche" opposite Notre-Dame. (A beautiful place featured in the Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy's movie "Before Sunset").
If you love old bookstores, you should visit this place!
This is not a plain parfum store: this is a wonderful, intimate experience. This house has been creating parfums for almost 200 years. Its original store is tiny but delicate and it hides, in its first flight, an splendid multisensorial free museum.

The Petit Palais is not so small at all and a really beautiful building to see and visit. You can find ancient artifacts, medieval objects, rare manuscripts and books and work by Pisarro, Morisot, Cassatt, Manet, Renoir, and Gauguin. We went to see particularly, 40 Years of Yves Saint Laurent, which covered the designers life work from 1957 to 2002. A great show to see in a great building to house it. It runs until August 2010 so plenty of time to see it. A definite must see !!
