Great park on the Hudson River that has some great nature walks and spectacular picturesque views. I do some recreational photography, and this place had tons of stuff to shoot. There's a playground for the kids and lots of waterfront beaches. There's also ample picnic space, making it ideal for bringing the extended family along for a gather. It's also close to the train, so you could conceivably walk from the stop.
Things to do
This massive estate is one of the most renowned in the US. It's simply breathtaking in its beauty and its size. There's a handful of different tours, and honestly, since the Grand Tour is only three hours, I'd suggest that one. Even in three hours you feel like you were kinda rushed through the place (the tour guides - mostly older ladies - can be a little impatient). I personally loved the history. There's lots of info on the Rockefeller family and how John became the US's first billionaire.
