Olot is located north of Barcelona in the Catalonian Pyrenees. The city lies in the protected area of the Natural Park of the Volcanic Area of the Garrotxa.
One of the highlights of the town are the "Claustres del Carme", the Carmelite Cloisters, which date back to the Renaissance. is a nice placeto feelthe peace of the scenary. sometimes they organize some shows.
The old town of Olot is surrounded by the largely industrial new town. The charming narrow streets of the old town are clustered around the Plaça Major and the Sant Esteve church, in this area you will find numerous delightful little shops and art galleries, which are a joy to explore. Nearby is the Rambla, a lovely walkway lined with smart cafés offering tree-shaded tables for dining or just taking a coffee whilst watching the world go by.
