Dunstaffnage is a short bus ride away from Oban. It's not the most impressive of castles, but if you have some extra time (and/or a National Historic Pass) it's nice to poke around inside. The ruined church on the castle grounds also merits a visit.
Whether you would like to go for a leisurely walking trip or you’d rather a most adventurous vacation, the Oban area provides many opportunities for those free-to-breathe Scottish walking holidays.
In the Degnish Peninsula you’ll find the Ardmaddy Castle at The Lodge, where ther path that will lead you to a historic wishing tree starts. It’s two miles away from the castle.
