This is a beautiful, dazzling building that definitely sticks out in a not-so-nice part of town. You shouldn’t have any problems, just don’t go walking around far from here. We’ve seen the symphony here, beautiful dance concerts, and large music acts like BB King. The acoustics here are perfected and you won’t get a stiff back from the seats, they’re super comfy. The season coming up is really exciting and in demand, so be sure to get tickets in advance.
Things to do
This is a solid museum with that houses a multitude of changing, interesting exhibits. I am an architecture fanatic so I bring like-minded friends here often to check out the Ballantine House, which is a preserved ten-room Victorian mansion you can tour. The exhibit focuses on what makes a “house” a “home” and it’s very neat. For kids there are a lot of hands-on exhibits and educational tours. Admission is free for Newark residents (bring your Jersey id) and $7 for everyone else.
