Around 4th avenue and Houston Street you can find what may be called the NYU area. There are a lot of historic buildings with Washington Square Park right in the middle. It’s a nice place to sit down and eat a snack while you enjoy the street art you can usually find there or get refreshed in the fountain while you admire the Washington Arch.

Washington Square Park was recently remodeled and looks beautiful after its controversial restoration. You'll still find lots of nyc culture at this park - the Chess hustlers at the SW corner of the park, the guys selling drugs at the South entrance to the park, the musicians playing every genre, the kids playing in the fountain - magical! In June, NYU also holds their graduation here.
