cultured

The construction of this basilica began in the early 19th century and it took 6 years to finish it. In 1866 the structure was gutted by fire. At that time, the new St. Patrick’s Cathedral was already being built so they took two years to restore de old one.
This cathedral was used as a filming location for the movie classic The Godfather. This is where the christening is held. The scenes outside where shot at another church, but the interior ones were filmed here.
