The MET is one of the most amazing museums in the US that carries art from almost everywhere on earth. In every corner of this giant, living, breathing, hunk of a museum you will find thousands of works and hundreds of themed collections. Admission is suggested and you’ll want to bring comfortable shoes since standing and walking is a major part of the visit. It’s always packed so make sure you check your patience at the entrance.

I used to work at the MET and I loved it!!! You can avoid the crowds by getting there early in the day - they open at 9:30am from Tues - Sun. Insider tip: Use the coat check in the Uris Center - it's off to the left of the main stairs when you are facing the museum. That side entrance is usually not busy so it'll be a breeze to get in and out of the museum.

More tips!
1: The Japanese garden, 2nd floor above Egyptian Art, is often missed by visitors. It has a Koi pond and is sooo peaceful and quiet.
2: Have champagne while listening to a string quartet and piano on the main balcony every Friday night.
