This is my least favorite of the "big" nyc art museums. The Guggenheim's big draw is the huge display space in the center of the spiral staircase which they often capitalize on, but the rest of the exhibits are hit or miss. Check their website before you go. I prefer The Frick on 71 St. & 5th Ave. If you do go to the Guggenheim, visit nearby consignment shops for Quality 2nd-hand designer items for a fraction of the price. Encore @ 84th St. Michael’s @ 80th St. Both are on Madison Ave.
Thanks to my jet lag i can give you this tip...i was outside in the Museum at 6:30 AM and almost you can talk to the museum, nobody´s making line, no street vendors... fi you prefer sleep, ok, i have a tip for you, the entrance to the hall is for free and you can see the AMAZING!! stairs. Nice shop also.
