These twin apartment buildings are a recognizable landmark and very luxurious residences with astonishing views of central park. A lot of famous people have lived there like Spielberg, Steve Jobs, Bruce Willis and Glenn Close.
The 27th floor, the top one, of the north tower is now a duplex loft with 330m2 of interior space and 120m2 of terraces. Bono, from U2, recently purchased it for… wait for it… over 10 million Euros (15$ million). Demi Moore owns the south tower's top floor.
Things to do
There are many ponds and lakes in Central Park but Conservatory Water is not that well known and it’s a nice place to go. It’s a small pond where modeling fans go to take their little boats so you get to see a lot of interesting boating.
Also, the flora nearby is very beautiful. There are always story-tellers there on sundays. And it is right by the Hans Christensen Statue.
Pale Male is the name of a red-tailed Hawk. It’s the first hawk known to build its nest in a building instead of a tree. Pale Male often flies near the building and nearby places in central park like Conservatory Water.
He’s so cute and pretty that it inspired a series of children’s book.
Located in the East Side of Central Park (at 74th Street) you can find the Hans Christian Andersen statue. It’s close to the Conservatory Water, where kids love to play.
Surrounding the statue there are other ones inspired in children stories like Alice in Wonderland.
Andersen is in the company of the main character of one of his most famous stories “The Ugly Duck”.
Lincoln Center is a group of buildings that holds one of the largest complexes for performing arts. Opera, Ballet, Jazz, the uber-famous Julliard School, Theatre, philharmonic...
The complex is also very worth seeing even if you’re not interested in performing arts. The buildings are just amazing.
