Place Castellane is where Rue de Rome, Blvd Baille, Ave du Prado & Ave Jules Cantini meet. At it’s center, is a beautiful fountain-one of the most striking in the city. On the periphery are cafes, restaurants & a movie theater. It’s a key transfer point; several bus lines & the metro lines converge here. An excellent area to take a break from shopping on Rue de Rome or after a day at the beach, resting with a cafe, listening to the hum of the fountain with plenty of people watching to be had.

Fountain Facts: The fountain was sculpted entirely in marble, between 1911 & 1913. It replaced an obelisk, that was transferred to another district. The items sculpted into the marble are meant to represent the journey to the Mediterranean sea from the Rhine River.
