Dexter’s partner Angel it’s going through some tough personal times… One night he gets drunk and Dexter drives him home. This home, as every place, is supposed to be in Miami but the actual house is in Long Beach, California. It’s in the same neighborhood where other show’s homes are located.
Things to do
Los Altos neighborhood it’s a residential area with lots of Dexter’s characters’ homes. Right next to Angel’s home, there’s the adoptive parents’ home where the flashbacks get place. These kinds of locations usually are private homes so they just use the exteriors, but in this case, they also used some rooms inside for several scenes of Dexter’s past.
Sometimes, we are lucky to be witnesses of Dexter’s struggle with his “condition”. As a teenager, we had to deal with that problem and try to control it somehow. Remember when we are told that some bully molested Dex? His father tries to stop him from killing him but he goes anyway to a schoolyard with the intention to do it. This place is in Long Beach or what we could call “Dexter’s Neighbourhood”.
In Dexter’s season two finale, after Lila proofs once more that she is quite crazy, Dexter and her meet at an Aquarium. It is supposed to be in Miami but actually it’s the Long Island Aquarium on California. Aquariums are quite fun to visit and if you can stand where Dex and Lila had their last calm moment… is even better! ;)
The very first murder of Dexter’s second season starts with a body lying on the rocks by the sea on Miami. As usually, the shot was shot in California, at a Marina. The bridge on the background is the Queensway Bay Bridge to Long Beach (where lots of the show’s locations can be found). This location is close to Miami Aquarium, place that had some importance on season’s two finale.
