Albert, The Prince Regent was dead a few years before the British public rallied together and ensured this Monument was built to commemorate his memory. Despite during Albert's life he told anyone who would listen he'd rather not have one. His wife, Queen Victoria never forgot him and waltzed about in black widow's weeds for the rest of her life. She was a barrel of laughs. This is one of the most blingey-est monuments in London, but not necessarily the most pointy-est!
