A traditional fishing village, Costa da Caparica was transformed in the 20th century into the busiest beach in the Lisbon region. Its location and easy accessibility attracts crowds on summer weekends.

The beach is very long. It's quite windy so it could be a bit disgusting
but it has a special atmosphere since you dont find too many tourist in
that area, it's full of local people and you will find out that it's the brazilian part of
Lisbon. You find people playing football on the shore, practicing sport etc. if
you like to fly your kite its a nice place to do it. I took a boat to
Almada and there you get a bus to Caparica. It takes long but it deserves it.
