Jinsha River 金沙江

recommendation by fang

The westernmost of the major headwater streams of the Yangtze River, southwestern China. "JinSha" literally means "Gold Sand" or "Golden Sands". Decades ago, the Red Army used to across the Jinsha River in order to escape from the pursuing troops of the enemy. It turns rapidly to the northeast at the point of the Naxi autonomous county in Lijiang, Yunna, so it split the mountains there and formed the famous Hutiaoxia(the Tiger Leaping Gorge).
