The main square in Leon was built in 1677. It is one of the oldest squares in Spain. Situated in the Húmedo neighbourhood of the city, where a market is held every Wednesday and Saturday.
From the brightly coloured awnings which are juxtaposed with the sobriety of the square, they sell products typical of the province, as well as vegetables, sweets and meat.
Close to the square there are bars where one can try the local wines, drink a beer. Always accompanied by a free tapas.
