Go to Puerto Ramírez. From here, 41 kiloemtres of gravel for a jungle valley to Palena, a town of services. In 1962 the Queen of England established the border between Chile and Argentina in the river Encuentro, giving to Chileans the green valley of California (km. 61) in the middle of the dry prairie. Three kilometres beyond (64) leads to Toro, where a detour out of 7 km. along Palena National Park to the lonely lake Palena, binational and good fishing. In Argentina it is called Vintter.
