For me those cities in the south of Beijing, I like Hangzhou very much. It's one of the most livable city in China for there are many beautiful scenic spots in the central city and it's called "small paradise of China". As the capital of Zhejiang Province, it collects the most intelligent people and the richest people. It's a city good for your eyes that you can easily see beautiful women and handsome guy. I also love very much the food of Hangzhou, like Xihucuyu which is a dish of fish...
Things to do
Located in the central city, it should be the first place to visit in Hangzhou. Her name 'Xihu'(the west lake) was first called in Song dynasty, there are many well-known poems about it. To take a walk around the river bank in the afternoon is the best time for those local guys. There are many islands in the lake which were the favorite places to go for the ancient writer and poets. Besides, there are many scenery spots, so you could plan a whole day trip to the lake.
It's a very beautiflul natural park named after Yuhuangshan Mt. In the top of the mountain where you can overlook the Xihu lake and the Baguatian(the Eight Diagrams farmland) while tasting local tea. It takes about 2 hours to climb up to the mountaintop to visit not only the wonderful scenery of the city but also an amazing Taoism temple where live the chinese God and the immortal of wealth and many people in red sing lections in a local way which is very worth seeing...Admission: 10 RMB/ person
If you konw something about the Eight Diagrams of China, you'll see what is this farmland like. In the center is a round shaped land full of green trees and if you take an overlooking at it you'll notice they like 2 fishes, and around the center there are eight divided farms planted different things. Many local people come here to buy vegetables in weekends for it's totally natrual. You just can't imagine that this farmland was once where the ancient emperor of Song dynasty planted vegetables!
Qiantangjiang is the famous river of Zhejiang Province. It starts form Anhui and passes by Zhejiang Province then flows to the East Sea. The Qiantangjiang tide is called the No.1 tide in the world so to watch the tide is already a must-go in Hangzhou. It's very interesting that the local rich people would like to buy the homes side by this river not only because of the beautiful scenary but also the river's name for "Qian" means "money" in chinese.
