Ok so you made a bad call and visited Gothenburg in the winter...do not worry you can always take vacation from your vacation at Trädgårdsföreningen!

Visit the Palm house a "gigantic puzzle made of cast iron and glass" almost 1,000 m2 that takes you on a journey to five continents in five different houses.

So get out of the wind and snow and enjoy a day relaxing (or why not working with your laptop) in the mediterranian part or even more exotic climates.

FREE off season!

The Archipelago

recommendation by mjaumjau

The archipelago outside of Gothenburg is one of Swedens best features. Only about 1,5 hour from the central station it's easy to experience swedens nature up close.
Many of the islands are car free and the ferries leave very often.
Just take tram 11 to Saltholmen and switch to the ferries.
Pack some sandwiches and coffee and get going!
However the weather have a nasty habit of changing out there so bring an extra jacket, and be prepared for some wind. ;)

Random Forest

recommendation by mjaumjau

The good thing about Sweden is than nature is always just outside of the door. A pretty neat forest is seldom further away than 20 minutes, even in swedens second largest city.
Wanna see some elks/mooses or see if there's nothing but pine and oak trees? Check it out!
In sweden you can put up a tent in any forest and pick as many berries and mushroms as you want as long as you don't hurt nature and pick up after yourself.
So get out and feel the clean air that we're famous for!

Nefertiti Jazz Club

recommendation by mjaumjau

This is a legendary jazz club with a wide repertoire. Besides live shows, Nefertiti is also home to the city's most vibrant nightclubs. On stage, you will mostly hear jazz, but also etno, hip hop, blues, soul and electronic music.
The crowd is mixed and the atmosphere is relaxed although there are a lot of people. Nefertiti is not just a concert venue, it also serves great food.
Young people are welcome with adult supervision
Queues can be long, make sure you come on time!
Opening times vary
