When you go to Fuerteventura apart from practising water sports and relax in their huge beaches you can also rent a car and visit the center of the island. In this case I recommend you Betancuria. It is a beautiful village in the middle of the desert. Full of wierd cactuses and typical arquitecture from the island. Like is in the center is better order meat than fish. In my case I ordered pork with banana sauce. Enjoy it.
Things to do
In the west part of the island and more or less in the middle you wil find this amazing area by the coast full of cliffs, beaches and nothing else. Is worth it to get there at least one sunset.
In the north of the island in Corralejo and very close to the port you have the best surf spot of the island for practising surf. There is no a sandy beach, just rocks, so is not the best beach to rest. So or you surf or better change the beach. You will see the island of Lanzarote not far away. Just 45 minutes by ferry.
The Corralejo dunes is a protected Natural Park. In the north part of the island and by the sea. It is amazing to get lost there just by yourself and just listening the strong winds.
