Pretty neat place to stop at when traveling through Indiana near French Lick. You shouldn’t miss it because there are billboard advertisements for Marengo Cave like every few miles. There are two caves here. We took the Dripstone Tail tour and it lasted about an hour and a half. Our guide was somewhat monotone but I guess she does this all the time so I don’t blame her. Make sure to bring in your jacket and shoes you don’t care about because it’s wet and chilly in there!
Things to do
This is a relaxing, old-fashioned way to spend the day in French Lick. We took a nearly two hour-long trip aboard one of their historic diesel trains and traveled about twenty scenic miles. Along the way we saw Larry Bird’s childhood home, log cabins, and where tomato juice was originally started. My dad really loves trains. His face was lit up the entire ride so it was well worth the trip. Tickets were around $15 for every adult and I recall children under eleven being free.
