Had the hands down best meal during my time in San Diego at this tiny beach joint. Renowned mostly for their brunch, my breakfast burrito may have been the best I've ever eaten. The prices are more than reasonable, but sometimes the lines aren't. Be prepared to wait more than a half hour on weekend mornings.

The Wine Loft

recommendation by manyab

This place can be tough to find because it's on the second floor of the building its in, but it's wine lists boasts selections from California, France to Oregon. In a larger city, it'd be tough to pull off the festive, cozy atmosphere of this place, but in laid-back Flagstaff, it's works perfectly. The loft space also has all sorts of board games to play on hand.

This off-the-beaten path joint used to have a bit of a clubbier scene when it was called the Boardwalk, but these days it's merely a cozy dive that often has live music on the weekends. The place has free pool tables and a great beer selection, as well as an attached package liquor and candy store.

This Flagstaff institution is a must-visit according to anybody that's lived there. Nestled in the historic Monte Vista Hotel, this old school cocktail lounge has just about something for everybody; good music, cheap drinks and a cozy, divey atmosphere. The juke box is solid, but the DJs also attract quite a following. It might not be family friendly, but it's certainly the most diverse bar in town.
