Worth a mention: Near the area, in the village of Murgados there is a 16th Century fort, el Castillo de la Palma. It was used as a prison, and used to held the ex-lieutenant colonel Antonio Tejero after the attempted putsch on the 23rd February 1981. Access to the fort is gained through a drawbridge
