Really impressive university art gallery. While a small art museum, it packs a big punch (cheesy, sorry). I’ve made the trip up here from Chicago for some phenomenal shows. The house collection I’ve noticed is all on paper mediums (photography, drawings, fine art) but the traveling exhibits do vary. I love the movie theater here! They show mostly art-house films but occasionally they’ll do throwbacks to classics like The Princess Bride. Free admission although they do take donations.
Things to do
This place is a hidden treasure. I was casually walking around Northwestern’s campus enjoying the sights and I stumbled upon this secret garden. It’s located between the science building and the Garrett Evangelical Seminary and is modeled after Shakespeare's plays so all the plants and flowers are somewhere mentioned in his plays. As an English major I had a lot of fun reading the nameplates and discovering new clues in the garden’s master design.
