There are faster more modern boats that travel between Cadiz and el Puerto de Santa Maria, but they're not as charming and fun as the Vaporcito! Ride on the lower level in the very front of the boat for the best views. Not only will you get to see the whole bay from the front but you'll also get splashed with water as the boat hits the waves =)
Things to do
This national park has great bike trails that wind through salt marshes, small pine forests, and right up to the beach! There is an information center called Casa los Toruños at the intersection of Avenida del Mar and Calle Algar. You can rent bikes or kayaks there, get maps of the park, use the bathroom, or even get a bite to eat. My favorite path is the one that goes through the marshes near the highway. The crabs scatter in the water as you zoom past on your bike =)
